I’m a Franco-Irish author who writes from a cottage deep in the Hampshire countryside, England.
You might know me as the New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author of the word-of-mouth hit Behind Closed Doors and my latest thriller The Guest.
With 7 million editions of my 7 novels sold worldwide, my books have been translated into 41 languages. My novel, The Breakdown, has been adapted for film under the title Blackwater Lane and my thriller, The Therapist, is currently in development for the big screen.
B.A. Paris
I lived in France for most of my adult life and before becoming an author, I worked in Finance as a trader before retraining as an English teacher. My husband and I ran a language school together while bringing up our five daughters. It was only after I turned 50 that I started writing.
As a writer of psychological thrillers and domestic suspense, I am inspired by things that happen in my day-to-day, by people I have known and people I meet. My imagination then goes into overdrive and, before I know it, a story comes to life on the page.
When I’m not writing, I enjoy spending time with the other man in my life. He’s well over 80 years old and is a little wrinkly, but Henry the tortoise really is great company.
At the moment, I’m writing my next thriller. Stay tuned for updates by signing up to my newsletter or by following me on social media @baparisauthor
